Concrete Resurfacing in Northern Suburbs

Coastal exposure, newer estates and large driveways from Scarborough to Yanchep.

In short

We resurface driveways, alfrescos and pool surrounds right through Perth's northern corridor, from Scarborough and Karrinyup up to Butler, Alkimos and Yanchep. Coastal suburbs get salt and UV-tolerant sealing on a shorter cycle; the newer inland estates get straightforward overlays on young, sound slabs.

Most requested
Double driveways, entry paths, alfresco areas
Typical driveway
60 to 120 square metres
Coastal maintenance
Re-seal every 2 to 4 years this close to the coast.
On site for
Most single-area domestic jobs: 3 to 5 working days including cure and seal time.

The northern corridor splits into two very different jobs. Coastal suburbs deal with salt-laden wind and sand abrasion, which chalks sealer faster and calls for a shorter re-seal cycle. Inland estates are newer, with large double driveways on sound slabs - ideal overlay candidates.

On coastal work we lean toward aggregate and textured finishes that hide windblown sand, and we specify sealers with UV and salt tolerance front of mind.

In the newer estates the most common brief is simply making a big grey driveway match a very new-looking house.

Two very different jobs in one corridor

Within a few kilometres of the beach, salt-laden wind and windblown sand chalk a sealer faster and scour the surface. Inland estate slabs are newer, flatter and well finished, which makes them some of the easiest overlays we do.

Coastal work leans toward textured and aggregate-look finishes that hide sand between sweeps, plus a sealer chosen for UV and salt tolerance.

  • Coastal: textured finishes, shorter re-seal cycle, salt-tolerant sealer
  • Estates: large-format stencil or plain spray, colour matched to a new-build palette
  • Both: non-slip topcoat wherever water lands

Matching a new-build home

The most common northern-suburbs brief is simple: the house is five years old and the driveway makes it look older. Large-format patterns and low-contrast joints read as current, while heavy small-brick patterns tend to date a modern frontage.

Questions we get from Northern Suburbs

Do you service Butler, Alkimos and Yanchep?
Yes, the northern corridor to Yanchep is part of our normal service area and is quoted without a travel loading.
How often should a coastal driveway be re-sealed?
Within a few streets of the beach, plan on every two to four years. Further inland, three to five years is typical in Perth sun.
Will windblown sand ruin a new spray-on surface?
No, but it does show on flat dark colours. Textured and speckled aggregate-look finishes hide sand far better between sweeps.
Can you resurface a driveway on a newly built home?
Yes, once the slab has cured - generally 28 days minimum from pour. Young, sound slabs are ideal overlay candidates.
