Pool surrounds that stay cool underfoot
Dark concrete around a pool absorbs heat and becomes unusable barefoot through summer. Moving to a pale sand, limestone or off-white base is the single biggest comfort change we can make, and a textured aggregate-look finish adds grip at the same time.
We apply a fine non-slip additive to the wet edge of every pool concourse as standard, and roll a bullnose edge where the coping allows.

- Can you make a hot pool surround cooler without replacing it?
- Yes. Overlaying in a pale sand or limestone tone measurably reduces surface temperature compared with dark or bare grey concrete, and takes days rather than weeks.
- Is spray-on paving safe around a saltwater pool?
- Yes, when it is sealed for the environment. We specify a sealer suited to chlorine and salt-cell splash-out and add non-slip to the topcoat.
- Can you tie a new driveway section into an older one?
- That is one of our most common southern-suburbs jobs. A single pattern and colour over both sections removes the patchwork look.
