Vuba & Resin Driveways
Resin-bound stone driveways and paths - natural aggregate bound in clear resin for a smooth, permeable, seamless surface.
Resin-bound stone is natural aggregate mixed with a clear resin and trowelled out to a smooth, seamless surface. Unlike loose gravel, every stone is locked in place; unlike a slab, water passes through it.
We install the Vuba system. Aggregate blend samples and product data are available on request.
Why owners choose it
It gives the look of gravel with none of the migration - no stones in the lawn, no ruts in the wheel tracks, no raking. The surface is smooth enough for prams, bikes and wheelchairs.
It is also permeable, which matters where drainage and hard-surface rules apply.
What it is not
Resin-bound is not resin-bonded. Bonded systems scatter stone onto a resin layer and shed it over time; bound systems mix stone through the resin so the whole depth is held together.
- Driveways, paths and courtyards over a suitable base
- Pool surrounds and garden paths wanting a natural stone look
- Sites where permeability or a level, trip-free surface is required
Process
- 01
Assess the base
Resin-bound stone needs a sound, permeable-appropriate base. We confirm what you have and what it needs.
- 02
Prepare and edge
Base preparation, cleaning and edge restraints so the finished surface holds its line.
- 03
Prime
A primer is applied to lock the resin layer to the base.
- 04
Mix and lay
Aggregate and resin are forced-mixed to the manufacturer's ratio, laid to depth and trowelled smooth.
- 05
Cure
The surface cures to a firm, jointless finish - typically foot traffic the next day, vehicles a little later.
Colour chart
Indicative only - screens shift colour, so final selection is made from physical sample boards on site. Each colour is an oxide that tints the base compound, used on its own or flecked with a second and third colour to read as stone.

Common questions
- Is resin stone the same as exposed aggregate concrete?
- No. Exposed aggregate is concrete with the stone washed open at the surface. Resin stone is loose aggregate bound in resin and laid over an existing base.
- Will weeds grow through it?
- The surface is permeable, so windblown seed can germinate on top of it. An occasional spot spray and a rinse is the whole maintenance task.
- Can it go over my existing concrete or asphalt?
- Often yes, provided the base is sound and drainage is addressed. We assess the base before quoting.
- Do you have local photos?
- This is a newer service in our range, so our own project photography is still being built up. We can show product samples and completed system references in the meantime.

Send us a photo. We'll tell you what your concrete needs.
