Epoxy Floor Coatings

Epoxy for garages, workshops and commercial floors - flake, plain or metallic, finished with a clear topcoat.

Epoxy is a resin based product rolled onto a prepared slab. Once cured it is chemically bonded to the surface and easy to clean - the reason it is the default for garages, workshops and commercial floors.

Every epoxy we lay is done the same way: diamond high-grit surface grind, moisture and soundness checks, primer, body coat, then a clear topcoat that protects the surface.

How we prepare the surface & why

Moisture in the slab is the single most common cause of coating failure. We test before quoting, and where readings are high we specify a moisture-tolerant primer instead of hoping for the best.

Garage floors also need their saw cuts and control joints treated correctly, otherwise the coating telegraphs every line within a season. Prior preparation is what allows us to lay beautiful epoxy coats that not only protect your surface but look amazing for years to come.

The Benefits of Epoxy Flooring

A finished epoxy floor resists oil, brake fluid, tyre marking and hot-tyre pickup far better than a painted slab, and it mops clean rather than absorbing spills. By getting an epoxy coat it protects your slab and looks better than a boring untreated surface.

    Flake

Flake of your choice is scattered to produce the texture you see. We lay it into the body coat, scrap the flake back and seal the surface with a top coat. This hides dust and marking, adds grip, and lets you tune the blend from subtle grey to high-contrast onyx.

  • Plain solid-colour epoxy floor with a smooth satin clear topcoat in a garage or workshop setting

    Plain

A single solid colour with a clear topcoat. The most economical system and the cleanest look for commercial and utility spaces.

  • Blue metallic epoxy floor with deep marbled movement, reflecting the brick wall above it

    Metallic

Metallic pigments moved through a clear resin to create depth and movement. Metallic Epoxy is the most stylish option with multiple pattern, style and colour options.

Process

  1. 01

    Diamond grind

The slab is ground back to open the surface profile. No coating outlasts poor mechanical preparation.

  2. 02

    Repair and fill

Cracks, pinholes and joints are cut, filled and levelled so the finished floor reads flat.

  3. 03

    Prime

A primer coat seals the substrate and prevents outgassing through the body coat.

  4. 04

    Body coat and flake

Colour base goes down and, for flake systems, vinyl flake is broadcast to refusal, then scraped back flat once cured.

  5. 05

    Clear topcoat

Two clear coats seal the system. Gloss, satin or an anti-slip additive to suit how the floor is used.

Colour chart

Indicative only - screens and lighting shift colour, so final selection is made from physical flake samples on site. Every blend can be laid over a white, ash grey or gun metal base coat to lighten or darken the finished floor, and custom mixes are available.

Common questions

How long does an epoxy floor take?
Most residential garages run over two to three days including cure time between coats. We give you a return-to-service date too.
Will it lift under hot tyres?
With proper preparation, your epoxy will not lift under hot tyres. A ground substrate, correct primer and a proper clear topcoat is what prevents it.
Is a flake floor slippery when wet?
Flake adds texture, and where a floor gets wet regularly we add an anti-slip additive to the final clear coat.
Can you coat over an old painted floor?
Not over the paint. Existing coatings are ground off - bonding to someone else's failing film is how coatings fail twice. We grind the surface back first to ensure it lasts as long as possible.
